MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTORS
Rev. Dr. Craig B. Gaddy Sr., - Senior Pastor
I stand on the cutting edge of the social, racial, political & economic lines that prepares a people for the real world. My theology is a functioning composite of Liberation coupled with Empowerment. It is through this lens which I view the nature of my faith, my God and my Christ. God revealed himself to an idolizing Abram, the son of Terah. In Genesis 12 there's liberation from his father, kindred and community that God would develop Abram, then empowers him with His divine covenant and presence in Genesis 17 and Abram becomes Abraham, the father of many nations. This narrative is revisited in Exodus upon the deliverance of Gods people from Egyptian bondage and the cycle begins in Exodus 3 at the calling of Moses. So here we see God’s revelation of Himself as The One who liberates and empowers. This exceeds the moral compartmentalization of God as a moral compass or just a symbolic relic to be worshipped with no expectation of a God event or God activity, but for me God is real, absolute, one who's factual not fictional. It is through the community of faith that God reveals Himself through His work, by, for, with and through the lives of others.
We never lose focus of the necessities and goals that lie ahead for the people. As a result, we remain on the front line of social justice & inequality on every level until the disparities uphold this divide have been removed.
We're blessed with four African missions; in Sierra Leone we're in Kailahun, in Ghana we're in Kintampo, Kumasi, and Chokor. We've established Friendship in the north, central and southern perimeter of Ghana with a primary, secondary & a literacy program. We're proud partners with BASICS Inc., with Pat Wilkins and it stands as the largest youth literacy and development NGO in Ghana.
We are the voice of the voiceless, the providers of help to the helpless, and a symbol of hope for the hopeless. This only begins to tell the story, and this is where you come in.
Reverend Sheila Glenn, Assistant Pastor
As the first Assistant Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, I can humbly affirm that we can do all things through Christ, which strengthens us. No mountain is too high, no river too wide and no valley is too deep if we hold to God's unchanging hand.
